OQ Archives (2018-2022)

Before The Community Archaeologist, there was the OKPAN Quarterly (OQ)—a publication of the Oklahoma Public Archaeology Network that laid the foundation for accessible heritage writing, state events, and newsletter reporting in Oklahoma.

Founded by OKPAN’s inaugural Director of Operations, Kate Newton, OQ grew through the collaborative efforts of Allison McCloud, Delaney Cooley, and Horvey Palacios before its final issue in Winter 2022. This archive preserves and curates past issues of OQ, honoring the work that inspired TCA and documenting the evolution of our publishing vision.

From OQ to TCA, our commitment has remained the same: to make archaeology more public, collaborative, and community-driven.
